In 1999, Paul Hannah was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, giving him the opportunity to collaborate and visit Universities in The USA, Canada, Korea and the UK, including University of New Mexico, UMIST and University of Manchester. This research involved industry collaboration with companies including Rolls Royce, National Physics Laboratory, CORUS Metals Group, UK Defense Science and Technology Laboratory, and QinetiQ.
While studying toward his PhD he worked with a number of large and small companies in Europe and Australia, including startups. These included Wolfson Maintenance, BHP Steel, BORAL, McGill University, and UK Firearms Training Unit.
In 2005, Paul received his PhD in Mathematical and Computational Engineering.
After an 8-year career developing software, ultimately as a Senior Analyst/Engineer for an engineering software company in Australia, Paul decided it was time to return to the entrepreneurial scene and started his own company, Memetec.
Over the past couple of years he’s been involved with a number of contract and startup projects in various industries, including Condition Monitoring, Rail, Retail, and Health and Safety.
He developed, designed, built and installed a solar and wind powered electric propulsion system for his sailboat Delfina, ultimately removing every source of fossil fuel from aboard and turning it into the greenest boat in the harbour, and one of the very few all-electric sailboats in Australia.
Paul is an avid hiker, having recently passed the 2,000km mark on the various Compostella trails across France and Spain.
Paul currently divides his time between a home near the Sunshine Coast in Australia and one in the south of France. He is always on the lookout for interesting and challenging projects and opportunities.
